Latin Name: Alstonia scholaris
Indian Name: Saptaparna
Habitat:Wildly cultivated throughout India, found in sub Himalayan track from the Jumna Eastward ascending to 3000ft, abundantly found in Bengal and South India.
Useful in: The alkaloids blocked the actins of acetyl choline and barium ion and reduced the responses to exogeneous potassium. It has enjoyed wide reputation as an anti malarial agent. |
